I.L. Taylor, Jr., 90, of Louisville, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Saints Mary & Elizabeth Hospital surrounded by his family. He worked on the farm from an early age until he joined the Army and became a cook. He loved being a carpenter and worked as such until he was 80. He was a man of strong faith, a devout Catholic, and a member of Incarnation Catholic Church. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the American Legion. I.L. is survived by his loving wife of over 59 years, Rita Duckett Taylor; two daughters, Kim Taylor and Jennifer Taylor Thompson (Dennis); one brother, Jerome Taylor; sisters, Jessie Alvey, Arlene Mikesell, and Lida Duckett; grandchildren, Megan, Darrian, Alexis, Taylor, and Jaden; and three great grandchildren, Kayden, Braylen, and Layla. Funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2019 at Incarnation Catholic Church. Friends may visit from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday with a prayer vigil in the last hour at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home. Memorial gifts are suggested to be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
