Marilyn Joyce Payton (Waldridge) 79, of Mt Washington, KY entered Paradise on March 3, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Payton, her father, William Thomas Waldridge, mother, Louise Hilbert, a beloved grandson, Trent Carey, step-daughter, Marsha Pryor and step-grandson, David Greenwood. Marilyn was the last surviving sibling of William Floyd Waldridge, Gary Waldridge, Randy Curtsinger and Sue Rose. She leaves behind to cherish her memory four children: Donna Hunt (Tony), Pam Carey, Angela Drescher (Scott) and Robert Scott Hall, step-children: Steve Payton (Denise), Bradley Payton, nine remaining grandchildren: Christie Rooks (Mike), Tony Hunt Jr., Niki Milburn, Michelle Carey, Carrisa Carey, Alexis Goodlett, Amy Thompson (Tim) and Shaun Pryor (Cindy), Caesha Drescher, three remaining step-grandchildren: Stephanie Brooks (Josh), Madelon Payton, and Anthony Payton. She also has 17 great grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special mountain of gratitude to her granddaughter/caregiver Christie Rooks (Mike) for the great care they gave her in the last months/weeks of her life. Marilyn was a Christian by her profession of faith in Jesus Christ and baptism. She loved ALL her family with her whole heart. She had a dynamic personality, amazing sense of humor and loved making people laugh. She loved classic country music, Elvis, dancing, karaoke, bingo and spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by all.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2024 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Valley Cemetery. Friends may visit from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday.
