Amanda Nutt Obituary

Amanda Sue “Butternutt” Nutt, age 36 of Glasgow, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. She was a native of Mount Washington and an exceptional math teacher at Caverna High School and Middle School, where she was two-time teacher of the year. She had obtained her masters degree from Western Kentucky University and was currently working on completing her doctorate. She enjoyed photography, going to concerts, and never met a stranger. She was the guitar tech for Kelen Heller and the Velcro Pygmies. She was a positive influence on all her students, football team, and anyone she crossed path with.  She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Donnie and Esther Nutt; special friends, Jacob Sanders, Jerimiah Sanders, Jeremy Priddy, and Mama Tiff (Tiffany London).  She is survived by her mother, Becky Cash of Glasgow; her father and stepmother, Larry and Betsy Nutt of Mount Washington; one brother, Justin Cash (Jennifer), of Beaufort, South Carolina; one sister, Kahla Nutt, of Mount Washington; her two fur babies, Hershey and Kyrock.  Funeral Services will be held at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home on Saturday, September 18, 2021. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service on Saturday.  Visitation will also be held at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home in Mount Washington, Kentucky on Sunday, September 19, 2021, from 12 p.m.-6 p.m. Eastern Time with funeral services at 6p.m. Eastern Time.  Private burial will take place in Highland Memory Gardens.  Due to Covid-19 the family asks that masks be worn at all times during all visitations and services.
