Anna May Bleemel, 82, of Shepherdsville, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026.
Anna was born on September 16, 1943 in Jefferson County to the late Johnson and Mamie Ash. She was a retired fourth grade teacher from Mt. Washington Elementary School where she helped shaped many children’s lives. After retirement, she worked on the family farm, Slow Poke Farm, where she hosted school fieldtrips, weddings, and dinners. She attended St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Mt. Washington for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hill Bleemel; along with two sisters.
Anna is survived by two children, Troy Hardin and Holly Wickliffe; along with her beloved granddaughter, Mamie Hardin.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. followed by a private burial.
Memorial gifts in Anna’s memory are suggested to Bethlehem High School, 309 West Stephen Foster Ave., Bardstown, KY.
