Barbara Jean (Bailey) Barnes

Barbara Jean Barnes, 83, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Baptist Health.  She was the former Barbara Bailey, a retired employee of General Electric, where she worked for over 29 years, and a member of First Baptist Church of Mt Washington.  Barbara loved the Lord, her family, and especially doting on her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Along with working so many years at General Electric, she also worked along side of her husband farming.   Barbara was preceded in death by a son, Steven Barnes; parents, Everett and Dorothy Bailey; and a granddaughter, Brooke Husband.  Barbara is survived by her husband of nearly 42 years, Mr. Henry Barnes;  five children, Martin Keplinger (Marianne), Sandra Zieger (William), Debbie Summitt, Leisa Kelty, and Kathy Husband (Kevin); along with 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington with burial to follow in Kings Church Cemetery.  Friends may visit after 11 am. until time of services at the church on Friday.  Memorial gifts are suggested to Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.
