Barbara Carol (Mullins) Dattilo

Barbara Carol Dattilo (nee Mullins), 78, of Mount Washington, Kentucky, peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026, while traveling near Williams, Arizona.  Born with a vibrant spirit, Barbara was a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and proud great grandmother.  From her earliest days, she was a fighter, overcoming polio as a young child, a testament to the resilience and strength she carried through her life.  Her family was the center of her world, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and unforgettable memories. 

Her working years were split between Jefferson County Public Schools, Montgomery Chevrolet, and Kleinert-Kutz and Associates, where she made life-long friends of her co-workers.

An adventurous soul, Barbara loved to travel and passed away while on her dream vacation through the western United States, exploring many of the nation’s beautiful national parks.

She is survived by her loving children, her son, Rick Dattilo, and his wife Janelle; a daughter, Cheri Heller, and her husband, Troy.  She is also survived by her brother, Mike Mullins, and his wife, Pam; and her sister, Marti Barry, and her husband, Chris.  Barbara’s joy was multiplied through her 11 grandchildren,  Alexis Porter (Jesse),  Tiffany Hartley (Robert), Austin Dattilo, Scotty Mehlbauer (Megan), Jarrett Dattilo, Savanah Dean (Walker), Dylan Mehlbauer, Blake Dattilo, Trey Mehlbauer, Brady Cornell, and Cole Cornell; and 7 great grandchildren, Landon and Leo Mehlbauer, Ridge Hartley, Ellis Porter, Mila Mehlbauer, Everson Porter, and Weston Hartley, all of whom she adored. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Melvin Mullins and Magalyn Mullins; and her brother, Roger Mullins.

Barbara held a quiet, steady faith. She wasn’t able to attend church frequently, she found daily comfort, guidance, and strength in reading her Bible.  She also had a passion for life and a competitive spirit.  She was an avid sports fan and cheered for her favorite teams, especially the University of Louisville Cardinals.  Whether watching a game or spending time with those she loved, her energy and enthusiasm were  contagious. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Woodlake Clubhouse, 150 Lakewood Drive, Mt. Washington, KY.  Your love and support are the only gifts we need.  Should you wish to send flowers or a token of remembrance, please kindly direct them to Cheri Heller, 148 Wood Rock Court, Mt. Washington, KY, and she will bring them to the clubhouse, as they cannot accept deliveries.
