Barbara Jeanne Schoen, 82, of Louisville, returned to the Lord on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at her home. She was the former Barbara Mattingly, a retired executive secretary for the Kentucky Board of Auctioneers, former executive secretary for the National Auctioneer License Law Officials (NALLO), and a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. She enjoyed bowling, golf, crafting, and loved playing Bingo with her good friend, Carolyn Elder. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Jeanne Hart Mattingly; and her brother, Thomas Mattingly. Barbara is survived by her husband of 62 years, William "Bill" Schoen; two daughters, Laura Schoen (Holly) and Christina Alexander (Carl); four grandchildren, Ryan Alexander, Ashley Baurle (Josh), Andrew Alexander (Brittany), and Timothy Alexander (Nora); along with six great grandchildren, Noah Sirles, Addilyn, Elli, Penelope, Gretta, and Lincoln Alexander. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 6, 2023 at St. Bernard Catholic Church. Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home, Mt. Washington. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Highland Memory Gardens, Mt. Washington.
