Betty Eldridge Fields, 90, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a homemaker and a member of Dry Fork Old Baptist Church. She enjoyed embroidering, making quilts, camping, and working in her flowers. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Fields Jr.; two children, Michael Dean Fields and Charlene Fields; her parents, Howard and Mary Caudill Eldridge; and siblings, Burnest, Ernest, and Gladis Eldridge, Jeanette Hamilton, and Elsie Todd. Betty is survived by a daughter, Shirley Fields; one son, Robert Dean Fields (Lisa); daughter-in-law, Carla Fields; two sisters, Mabel Collins and Violet Trumbo; five grandchildren, Shirlene Griffin, Darlene Vaughn, Tonya Fields, Elizabeth Fields, and Deanna Taylor; five great grandchildren, Abigail, Joshua, Ghyser, Garrett, and Marion; along with a host of extended family and friends. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Mt. Washington Cemetery. Friends may visit from 10 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
