Betty Jean (Emerson) Lucas

Betty Jean Lucas, 77, of Hodgenville, passed away November 15, 2023 at Baptist Health Louisville.  She was a homemaker, a United States Army Veteran, and she enjoyed spending time with her family.  She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lennie Emerson; her husband, Carl Lucas, Sr.; along with her siblings, Jack, Bill, Tommy, and Connie Emerson.  She is survived by three sons, Carl Jr. (Kathy), John (Amy), and William Lucas; one daughter, Shelby Eldridge (Charles); three brothers, Kenneth (Angie), Sam (JoAnn), and Ronnie Emerson; six sisters, Mary Turner (Tom), Kate Mercer (Bud), Pat Curl, Ida Cowles (Dale), and Edna Knight (Bruce); along with eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens.  Friends may visit after 9 a.m. until time of service.
