Betty Carol Samuels, 74, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Jewish Hospital. She was the former Betty Mudd, a retired employee of Publisher's Printing Company, a cashier at Valu Market, and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Betty was a very giving, charitable person, thinking of others first. She also enjoyed playing Bingo. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Billy Samuels and David Walker; her parents, James and Lydia Mudd; and two sisters, Connie Hambleton and Mary Weger. She is survived by two sons, Waylon (Lori) and Bill (Mary Beth) Samuels; two brothers, James Mudd Jr. and David Mudd; five grandchildren, Chris and Jordan Samuels, Brandon, Dillon, and Emily Samuels; and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Friends may visit from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, and after 11 a.m. Tuesday. Memorial gifts are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
