Betty Jo (Lloyd) Fisher

Betty Jo Fisher, 96, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at her home.  She was the former Betty Jo Lloyd, a retired school teacher with both the Bullitt County and Spencer County School Systems, and a faithful member of Mt. Washington United Methodist Church.  She also served many years as a chairman for the Mt. Washington Cemetery.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sterling Fisher;  her son-in-law, Atly Brasher; and her parents, Leon and Neva Magruder Lloyd.  Betty Jo is survived by her children, Karen Fisher-Brasher, Vee Fisher, and John W. Bennett; along with a host of many friends.  Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2024 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home.  Friends may visit from 4 p.m. until time of service on Monday.  Graveside service will be 12 p.m. Tuesday at the Mt. Washington Cemetery.  Rather than flowers, the family would be delighted if you would pay a child’s past due lunch fees, tutor a student, take your children to Sunday school and church, encourage or become a foster family, build a relationship with a senior citizen and listen to their stories, participate in a small group Bible study and prayer fellowship, volunteer at the local school, library or food bank, or do some other act of kindness.  Memorial gifts can also be made to the Mt.
