Bobby Ray Yates

Bobby Ray Yates, 83, of Taylorsville, KY, returned to the Lord on Monday, August 23, 2021 at Jewish Hospital.  Bobby was a farmer, a member of Farm Bureau, and Plum Creek Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Shirley Yates; a son, Rocky Redmon; along with his siblings, Eugene, Arthur, Marvin Yates Jr., and Barbara Hume.  Bobby is survived by his wife of  64 years, Bettye Yates; one daughter, Rebecca Yates; a son, Tony Redmon; four grandchildren, Barbara and Elizabeth Yates, Erika Montgomery, and Courtney Hodge; five great grandchildren, Madison, Brooklyn and Avery Yates, and Gabe and Kai Hodge; along with a special friend, Ernest Montgomery.  Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Valley Cemetery.  Friends may visit Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
