Boyce Glenn Carey, 83, a lifelong resident of Mt. Washington, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Baptist Health. Boyce was born on May 23, 1942 in Mt. Washington, KY to the late Marvin and Iona Gentry Carey. He was a proud United States Navy veteran, a devoted husband and father, and a retired salesman of Central Chevrolet – Matt Montgomery Chevrolet. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and in later years, Calvary Christian Church. Boyce loved working in his garden and selling his produce, where he enjoyed conversation with everyone who stopped by. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Christy Carey; two sisters, Lavonne Shewmaker and Lana Durr; and two brothers, Kenneth Ray and Bruce Carey. Boyce is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Rose Marie Carey; four children, Vince (Tracy), Sharon (Phil), Brian (Aimee), and Clay Carey; two sisters, Betty Proctor (Omer) and Mary Hedgespeth (Terry); a brother-in-law, Lynn Durr; along with eight grandchildren, Alexis Carey, Alecia Wathen (Chase), Lauren Bush (Jacob), Austin Colvin (Emily), Brayden Carey, Cody Jaggers, Cyle Jaggers (Peyton), and Kylie Roth; and four great grandchildren, Cooper Colvin, Stetson Bush, Adelaide Larkin, and Harper Jaggers. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2025 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Mt. Washington Cemetery. Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until time of services.
