Carl Ezra Estep Jr.

Carl E. Estep Jr., 80, of Mt. Washington, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024 at U of L Medical Center South Hospital.  He was a retired truck driver with Vitran Express and a member of St. Martin's Brotherhood.  Carl enjoyed telling jokes, sharing trucking stories, and loved playing cards.  He was preceded in death by three sons, Mark, Bruce and Robert Wayne Estep; his parents, Carl and Margaret Estep; along with his siblings, Larry, Buddy, Joyce, Alice, and Janice.  He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Mary Judith Estep; three children, Tamara Ann Olson (Darryl), Thomas Joseph Herm Jr. (Paula), and Timothy Allen Herm (Kelly); eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren; along with a host of special friends including his neighbor, Howard Evans.  Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2024 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.  Pastor Mike Miller, Family Day Ministries will be officiating.  Friends may visit from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m.  Saturday.  Memorial gifts are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
