Carvon Hudson, 92, of Mt. Washington, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Norton Audubon Hospital. He was a retired Air Force CMSgt (30 Years), a Vietnam veteran, and also a retired Assistant State Fire Marshall for the Commonwealth of Kentucky (28 years). He was a member of Masonic Lodge #33 in Marietta, Georgia, and Salt River Masonic Lodge #180. He was preceded in death by is loving wife, Pearlie Hudson; his sons, Calvin James and Clifton Joel Hudson, his parents, Estill and Roberta Hudson; one brother, Eugene Hudson, and sister, Mavis Barnett. Carvon is survived by one daughter, Patricia Calvin of Mt. Washington, his sons, Carvon Jr. (Beth) of Indiana and Carlton (Jennifer) Hudson of Cox's Creek. three brothers, IV (Alice), Bill (Geraldine), and Sam (Susan) Hudson; two sisters, Glenna Howard and Helen Smith; nine grandchildren, Angela Johnson (Michael), Chris Calvin (Kristine), Jeffrey Hudson, Cynthia Hayes, CJ Hudson, Ian Hudson (Juleta), Jake Hudson (Meagan), Wyatt Hudson, and Hunter Hudson; along with seven great grandchildren, Violet, Siena, Kyla, Caiden, Winnie, Kash, and Alyssa; and a host of nieces and nephews. During his military career, he was stationed in Washington DC, Greenland, two tours in Moracco, Spain, two tours in Germany, Vietnam, Hunter AFB Georgia, Warner Robins AFB Georgia, Forbes AFB Kansas, McChord AFB Washington, Cheyenne Mountain Colorado, and Travis AFB California. Since his two retirements, he has spent his time tinkering with his John Deere tractors and his zero turn. If he wasn't tinkering with his equipment, he was cutting grass or sitting outside watching birds and other wildlife. He was an avid patriot who dearly loved his country, UK basketball, and family barbeques. He will be deeply missed. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2024 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home. Friends may visit 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday. Graveside services with military honors will take place 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Highland Memory Gardens. Memorial gifts in his memory are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
