Charles Fields, Jr.

Charles Fields, Jr., 87, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. Charles was a native of Letcher County, Kentucky, a retired employee of ConAgra, where he worked for 33 years, and an elder and pastor of Dry Fork Old Regular Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Charlene Fields; a son, Michael Dean Fields; along with numerous brothers and sisters. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Betty Fields; one daughter, Shirley Fields; a son, Robert Dean Fields (Lisa); a daughter-in-law, Carla Fields; five granddaughters, Shirlene Griffin, Darlene Vaughn, Tonya Fields, Elizabeth Fields, and Deanna Taylor; four great grandchildren, Abigail, Joshua, Ghyser, and Garrett. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery.  Friends may visit from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 11 a.m. Saturday.
