Charles David Lowry, 73, of Shepherdsville, KY, returned to the Lord on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at his home. He was born on February 20, 1951 to the late Herman and Robbie Cook Lowry in Trion, Georgia. Mr. Lowry was a retired employee of General Electric Co, a proud U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of the VFW, and the Church of Christ. He enjoyed golf, fishing, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and his dog Buddy. He was very outgoing, and generous to a fault. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny and Terry Lowry; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl H. and Ruby Tinney. Mr. Lowry is survived by his loving wife, Carol Lowry; one daughter, Whitnie Hart (James); two brothers, Gary and Stephen Lowry; two grandchildren, Cooper Payton and Bella Hart; aunt, Glynelle Rowland; uncle, Gene Henderson; two nieces, Rebecca Hammonds and Tereasa Lowry; four nephews, Andrew, Jay, and Jon Lowry, and Mike Arnold; along with a host of great nieces and nephews. Friends may visit on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 from 5 until 8 p.m. at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home, Mt. Washington, KY. Funeral services will take place 1 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2024 at Mason Funeral Home, Summerville, GA, with visitation there from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service. Burial will follow in Howell Cemetery. Memorial gifts are suggested to be made to the Leadership Institute.
