Charles Edward Rutledge Jr.

Edward Rutledge, Jr., 93, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Norton Women and Children's Hospital.  He was a retired employee of Belknap Hardware and Manufacturing, a member and former deacon at Ralph Avenue Baptist Church, and attended First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington.  He enjoyed fishing and boating at Dale Hollow, and was known to be able to fix anything.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edward and Lizzie Cheek Rutledge Sr.; and siblings, Robert Rutledge, Nina Floyd, and Mae Bryant.  Edward is survived by his loving wife of nearly 66 years, Betty Rutledge; one son, Jim Rutledge and his wife, Caren.  Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2023 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.  Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until time of services on Monday.  Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers are suggested to Hosparus of Louisville or Community Ministries.
