Cynthia Jean Whitaker, 64, of Taylorsville, passed away June 27, 2026. She was a retired courier for LabCorp. She loved her classic cars, but especially her 1964 1/2 Mustang. She also had a great love for all animals. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Doris Blair. She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Whitaker; two sons, Jamie (Jess) and Josh Taylor; four daughters, Jacqui Taylor and Erin, Carol, and Emily Whitaker; one sister, Mary Ann Hedges (Ernie); along with 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Friends may visit 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday.
