Darren Daniel Dooley, 48, of Mt. Washington, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at University of Kentucky Medical Center. Daniel spent a large portion of his life serving his family and community. He was a retired police officer with the Mt. Washington Police Department where he served the community for 18 years, and was a former member of the Mt. Washington City Council. He started his career in law enforcement with his father, Lloyd "Shot" Dooley" at the Bullitt County Sheriff's Department. He was also a member of the Mt. Washington Lions Club, Fraternal Order of Police, Salt River Masonic Lodge #180, and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd "Shot" and Arbidella Dooley. Daniel is survived by beloved wife, Jennifer Dooley; two sons, Zach and Nick Dooley; two brothers, Lloyd Allen (Pam) and Dwight Dooley; one sister, Delinda Rothman (Kris); his father and mother-in-law, James and Judy Huber; sisters-in-law, Kim Wheeler (Brent) and Dana Chissom (Mark); nieces and nephews, Charity, Josh, Mallory, Austin, Adam, Alex, and Cameron; along with a host of many friends. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington with burial to follow in the Mount Washington Cemetery. Friends may visit after 4 p.m. Tuesday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorial gifts in Daniel's memory are suggested to the Kentucky Sheriff's Boys and Girls Ranch or the Mt. Washington Lions Club.
