Danny Roy Gentry

Danny R. Gentry, 64, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at U of L Health Medical Center South.

Danny was a retired police officer for the Jeffersontown Police Department and a member of the Jeffersontown KY FOP Lodge 26.  He was also a member of Kings Baptist Church, and volunteered with the Mt. Washington Community Ministries Program.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ercel and Geneva Gentry; and a brother, Jerry Gentry.

Danny is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Gentry; three children, Sarah Glasscock (John), Andrew Gentry (Sarah), and Erica Hardesty (Brennan); one brother, Kenneth Gentry (Donna); along with ten grandchildren, Madison, Brennen, Jackson, Gentry, Avery, Ellington, Holden, Harper, Everly, and Jonah.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Kings Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Mt. Washington Cemetery.  Friends may visit from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church.  Memorial Gifts in his memory are suggested to Mt. Washington Community Ministries.
