Daphne Cox McCubbins, 94, of Cadiz, KY, formerly of Louisville, returned to the Lord on Sunday, March 17, 2024. She was a native of Bullitt County, KY, retired employee of the Charlestown Indiana Powder Plant, and a member of Highview Baptist Church. She enjoyed serving others as a volunteer for Baptist East Hospital and Fern Creek Ministry Volunteers. She and her late husband also enjoyed gardening, fishing, boating, camping, traveling, and participating in missionary work with her church. Later in life, she began to paint and play the organ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles McCubbins, her parents, Hubert and Wylma Proctor Cox; and siblings, Wanda Elmira Caine, David Earl Cox, Audrey Foley, and Joyce Caroline Johnson. Daphne is survived by two children, Geneva Parris (W. Howell Hopson III) and Charles Parris (Margaret Ann); two sisters, Opal Day and Linda Schreiber; a brother, Hubert Cox; along with four grandchildren, Michael Parris, Jennifer Parris Jacobson, Shawn Perry, and Eli Hopson; and ten great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2024 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Friends may visit from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday. Memorial gifts are suggested to Fern Creek Highview United, 9300 Beulah Church Road, Louisville, KY 40291.
