Darrell Franklin Herndon

Darrell Franklin Herndon, 53, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Jewish Hospital.  Darrell was a member and former deacon at Freedom Baptist Church, and was currently attending Vision Valley Baptist Church in Mt. Washington.  He enjoyed attending the Active Day Center in Bardstown, and loved all of the activities, especially Bingo, and was an avid University of Kentucky fan.  He was preceded in death by his father, J.W. Herndon Jr..  Darrell is survived by two children, Daniel and Ashley Herndon; his mother, Linda Smith (Jerry); two brothers, Joseph Herndon and Donald Harned; two sisters, Julie Huffman and Melissa Ramsey; sister by choice, Lisa Vires; along with five grandchildren.  A celebration of Darrell's life will be held 12 p.m. Monday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens.  Friends may visit from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 10 a.m. Monday.  Memorial gifts are suggested to the Frazier Rehabilitation Center.  The family would also like to extend their appreciation to Caretenders, Dr. Mohammad Said, and the Jewish/University of Louisville Surgery ICU Staff.
