David Howard Smith

David Howard Smith, 84, of Mt. Washington, KY, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at his home.  Howard was a retired truck driver, last working for Bumper to Bumper.  He enjoyed working in his garage, and was the owner of Smith Transmission Service.  He honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force, and was a member of Fern Creek Christian Church.  He was preceded in death by his parents, W. L. and Alma Corinne Smith;  brothers, W.A. Smith, and Donald Ray Smith.  Howard is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Betty Kessler Smith; two sons, Neal (Kim) and Gene Smith; one sister, Alma Katherine Richardson (Skip); a sister-in-law, Janie Smith; one niece and several nephews.  Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens.  Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday.  Memorial gifts are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Program.
