Debbi Ann (Messmer) Stewart

Debbi Ann Stewart, 69, of Mt. Washington, passed away April 14, 2023 at Baptist Health Louisville Palliative Care.  Debbi was born January 9, 1954, in Louisville, KY to the late Charles and Rose Messmer.  She was proudly raised in Louisville, where she attended Seneca High School and the University of Louisville.  She spent her career in educational support at Saint Bernard and Saint Michael Catholic Schools.  Debbi was a die hard supporter of Saint Xavier High School and the University of Kentucky, both her son's alma maters, cheering on both teams whenever she could.  She spent her life supporting her loved ones from spoiling them with goodies to attending any meet or performance, and everything in between.  She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Rodney David Stewart; one son, David Wayne Stewart (Emily); two grandchildren, Henderson and Anna Joy Stewart; a sister, Robyn Simon (Mike); along with three nieces, three great-nephews, and two great-nieces.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with burial to follow in the Mount Washington Cemetery.  Friends may visit 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all memorial contributions be made to the Saint Xavier High School Student Aid Fund, https;//www.saintx.com/donate/makeagift.
