Dollie Mae (Shields) Bentley

Dollie Mae Bentley, 88, of Mt. Eden, passed away February 23, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her family.  She was a retired housekeeper, attended Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, and the Taylorsville Senior Citizens.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudell and Ona Shields; her loving husband, Haskell Bentley; a daughter, Paula Heady; along with two brothers, Jesse and G.C. Shields.  She is survived by three sons, James (Linda), Wayne (Jan), and Jerry (Trina) Bentley; two daughters, Glenna Allen (Robert) and Alice Valentine; three sisters, Robin Nation (Scott), Donna Shields, and Carolyn Shields; along with 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens.  Friends may visit Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
