Donald Simms

Donald "Donnie" Simms, 71, of Mt. Washington, passed away September 5, 2021 at Baptist Health Louisville.  He was retired from Ford Motor Company, enjoyed farming, and a Baptist by faith.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Willie Davis Simms.  He is survived by two daughters, Dusty Rashelle Jackson (Matt) and Misty Kathleen Beard (Chris); two brothers, Luther and Robert Simms; two sisters, Joann Brashear and Edna Dietrich; three grandchildren, Cameron and Noah Jackson and Ayden Beard; along with a close friend, Gypsy Britt.  Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens.  Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until time of service.  Memorial contributions are suggested to one's local FFA Chapter.  PER THE FAMILY'S REQUEST, ANYONE WISHING TO ATTEND THE VISITATION AND/OR THE SERVICE WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR A MASK.
