On Sunday, June 16, 2024, the sweetest man who ever lived, Estill Lee Hunt, 80, of Mt. Washington, passed away at his home from cancer. While he wished he’d had more time, in his own words, “It is what it is.”
He was a native of Muhlenberg County, KY, a retired employee of Ford Motor Company, and a member of the Lebanon Junction Masonic Lodge #586. Lee enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and his morning gathering at Dairy Queen with his friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Bonnie Hunt; a sister, Linda Sue Hunt; and brother, Gary Michael Hunt.
Lee is survived by two daughters, Lisa Huff and Darlene Hunt (Mark Kretzmann); Two sisters, Janice Gail Spotts (Ray) and Rebecca Diane Pryor; and many in-laws he considered brothers and sisters as well. He adored his four grandchildren, Mason Huff, Lexie Huff, Bonnie Sue Kretzmann, and Neville Lee Kretzmann and his many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home. Friends may visit from 2 p.m. until time of service on Saturday. Lee collected dimes. He made banks and filled them with dimes. He mentioned in his final days that he wasn’t able to fill his last bank. If you’re so inclined, bring a dime to the service to help him fill it up.
Memorial gifts are suggested to donor’s charity of choice.
