Ethel (Rolya) Beecher

Ethel "Etel" Beecher, 101, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Friday, April 25, 2025 at her home.  She was born on June 5, 1923 in Milltown, New Jersey to the late Louis and Elizabeth Hagadish Rolya.  She was a homemaker, a member of Fern Creek Christian Church, and a former member of Millersville Bible Church in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.  She enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting, needlepoint, and at the age of 40, started painting.  She enjoyed serving others by volunteering at hospitals and in her church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald W. Beecher; a son, Paul Beecher; and a sister, Sharon Daniels.  Etel is survived by two daughters, Sandy Blandford and Deborah E. Beecher; one son, Ronald G. Beecher (Linda); along with 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.  Her life will be celebrated 11 a.m.  Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Fern Creek Christian Church.  Friends may visit on Tuesday from 3 until 7 p.m. at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home.  Memorial gifts in her memory are suggested to Hosparus of Louisville or Fern Creek Christian Church Children's Ministry.
