Floyd Thomas Ashe, 99, of Mt. Washington, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2024, after a remarkable life. He loved to fish, hunt, a good cigar, and a good drink of Henry McKenna, but he especially loved his family and friends. He retired from Thermogas after 43 years, a member of Salt River Masonic Lodge #180, and a Baptist by faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Sydney Ashe; a brother, four sisters, and a daughter, Sheree Lynn. Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Paula Jean Ashe; two bonus daughters, Karen Foster and Donna Thompson (Ronny) whom loved him dearly; one son, David Ashe; granddaughters, Devan Griffin, DeAndra Hurley (Roger), Lindsey Boone (Forest) and Courtney Harris (Adam) ; along with granddaughter, Taylor Ashe, grandsons, Tye and Joey Mattingly; 12 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Mt. Washington Cemetery. Friends may visit from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
