Franklin Dietsch Obituary

Franklin Donald Dietsch, 88, of Louisville, passed away March 2, 2025 at The Lantern.  He was retired from American Airfilter after 40 years of service, he attended Okolona Presbyterian Church, he was a United States Air National Guard Veteran, and he loved woodworking, framing, and working puzzles.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Maple Dietsch; his loving wife, Barbara Dietsch; a step-daughter, Sheila Wheatley; along with his siblings, Barbara James and Charles W. Dietsch.  He is survived by two children, Charles Dietsch (Jenny) and Tammy Richardson (Marke); two step-children, Teresa Ford and Michael Brown (Pam); Carey Dietsch (Geri), whom he loved and cared for like a son; along with 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  In keeping with his wishes, cremation was chosen.  His final resting place will be Highview Cemetery, Chaplin, KY.

The family would like to extend a very gracious "Thank You" to the staff and care team at The Lantern at Morning Pointe for the excellent care and attention our dad received over the last 2 years.  Those years were enhanced by the love and support shown to him by his Lantern family.  A very special "Thank You" to some of his special angels, Amanda, Jenny, Jackie, Todd, Ally, Kim, and Mary Jane.  You will always be in our hearts!
