Gary Meredith

Gary Meredith, 74, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital.  Gary was a native of Edmonson County, KY,  a retired employee of CSX Railroad, and a member of First Baptist Church of Mt Washington.  Gary was also a member of the Mt. Washington Lions Club, Salt River Masonic Lodge #180, and a volunteer for Dare to Care.  He  served our country as a United States Marine veteran, and was awarded the purple heart.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Ruailmer Meredith.  He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Marilyn Meredith; two children, Monica Meredith Sheeks (Jeff) and Gary Brian Meredith (Karen); along with one grandson, Justin Tyler Meredith.  Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington with burial to follow in the Mt. Washington Cemetery.  Friends may visit from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church.  In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial gifts be made to First Baptist Church.  Due to the pandemic, the family has requested a mask be worn.
