Geneva Lois Murphy, 91, of Louisville, passed away March 26, 2026 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was a member of the Lively Stone Apostolic Church and the NAACP. She spent her life as a Civil Rights activist, taking care of and advocating for others. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hawk and Beulah Weaver Tucker; her loving husband, Jessie "Tap" Murphy; along with seven siblings. She is survived her three daughters, Connie Johnson (Curtis), Gloria Hawkins, and Ramona Hanley; one brother, Joe Tucker; three sisters, Pat and Betty (Otis Mitchell) Tucker and Dorothy Lucille Abernathy; along with six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2026 at the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home, Mt. Washington, with burial to follow in Mount Washington Cemetery. Friends may visit after 12:00 p.m. Saturday.
