George "Allen" Cottrell

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of George "Allen" Cottrell, who departed this life on January 26, 2025, at the young age of 55.  Allen was preceded in death by his father, George Arthur Cottrell; along with his brother, Howard Maxwell Cottrell.  He is survived by his mother, Bettie Pimental of Lebanon, TN; his two cherished daughters, Kayla Cottrell Edgar of Cocoa Beach, FL and Kaira Cottrell of Louisville, KY; along with his beloved grandson, Kai Doneghy, who brought Allen immense joy and pride in being his "Pa".  Allen will also be lovingly remembered by siblings, Alisa Cottrell, Carl Cottrell, Carl Lucas, John Lucas, Tracy Lucas, Jesse Pimental, and Shelby Eldridge; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.  Allen enjoyed spending time in nature, especially fishing and boating on Nolin Lake, a place with meaningful history and special memories for him and his family.  In recent years, nothing brought Allen greater happiness than spending time with his grandson, Kai.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.  Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Thursday at the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home.  Friends may visit after 5 p.m. Thursday.  A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. CST/12 p.m. EST Friday at the Cub Run Baptist Cemetery.
