Gerald Lee “Jerry” Whaley

Gerald Lee “Jerry” Whaley, 77, of Taylorsville, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026 at his home.  Gerald was born on August 3, 1948 in Louisville, KY to the late Albert and Louise Johnson Whaley.  He was a retired service manager for Atlas Machine and Supply Company, an Army veteran, and a member of Kings Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Susan Whaley.  He is survived by two children, Brent Whaley (Meredith) and Betsy Smith ( Earl); along with six grandchildren, Madison Smith, Gracie Smith (Zak), Caroline, Eleanore, Graham, and Elliott Whaley.  A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 from 3 until 7 p.m. at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the Mt. Washington Cemetery with military honors.  Memorial gifts in his memory are suggested to Hosparus of Louisville.
