Helen (Franklin) Hunter

Mary Helen Hunter, 83, of Jeffersontown, passed away on October 24, 2025 at Baptist Health.  Helen was born on October 24, 1942 in Shelbyville, KY to the late Barney and Willie Mae Franklin.  She was a Baptist by faith, a member of Shelbyville Moose Lodge and Eagles Lodge 3903 in Jeffersontown.    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Hunter;  a son, Anthony Russell Landes;  and two brothers, Harold Franklin and Ray Franklin.  Helen is survived by one son, Henry Ware (Pam); her companion, Terry Brookshire; a sister, Doris Rogers; along with five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.    A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at the Eagles Lodge # 3903, 2501 College Drive #3610, Jeffersontown, KY beginning at 4 p.m.  McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
