Herbert Randall Offutt

Herbert Randall Offutt, 98, of Mt. Washington, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023 at Sanders Ridge Health Campus.  He was born on September 29, 1924 on a farm in Springfield, KY to the late Sam Richard and Lena Crowe Offutt.  He was a member of First Baptist Church, Mt. Washington, where he taught Sunday School for many years, a United States Navy Veteran, serving in World War II, and a member of the Mt. Washington Rook Club.  He was a sales manager for ACME Printing Inks.  Herb was known for his cheerful attitude, enjoyed going to the lake and playing cards with friends, and loved his lawn and gardening with both being immaculate.  Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Wanda; along with six siblings, Mary Jo Fowler, Lem, R.C., John Will, Ray, and Levi Offutt.  He is survived by his two daughters, Rhonda Lee Mitchell (Randy) and Robbin Offutt; his nephews, David King, Billy Joe Fowler (Judy), Kenny Ray Offutt, Jackie Offutt, and Rob Offutt; along with his cousin, Pauletta Offutt Kutter (John).  Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, July 6 at the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens.  Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Hosparus.
