Howard Branson

Howard Branson, 91, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Wednesday, December 6, 2023.  Howard was born in Leslie County, KY to the late, Orville and Rachel Branson.  He was a retired employee of General Electric, where he worked for 35 years, and a longtime member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.  Howard was a graduate of Whitesburg High School and proudly served in the U. S. Army.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Roscoe, Beulah, and Mary.  Howard is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jeanette Branson; one son, Greg Branson (Kimberly); a daughter, Sheila Whitworth; one brother, Everett Branson; one sister, Jane Smith; and a brother-in-law, Ronald Sturgill.  Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Thursday, December 14, 2023 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens.  Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until time of services on Thursday.  Memorial gifts in his memory are suggested to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
