Howard “Ray” Swickard, 84, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at his home. He was a native of Hazard, Kentucky, an Army veteran, and a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington. Over the years, he had also attended Little Flock Baptist Church and Gethsemane Baptist Church. Ray was a retired employee of Ford Motor Co. KTP, where he worked for 30 years, and a retired driver for Toby Tours, where he worked for 20 years. He was a member of both the Mt. Washington Lions Club and the Salt River Masonic Lodge #180. He enjoyed spending winters in Florida, riding motorcycles, camping, and driving the tour bus. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Hood. Ray is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joyce Swickard; one daughter, Marsha Page (Ronnie); eight grandchildren, Jamie Franklin, Joshua Page, Elizabeth Hubbard, Kevin Page, Michael Page, Montrell Page, Matthew Payne and Adam Payne; along with eighteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Mt Washington. Friends may visit on Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorial gifts in his memory are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
