Ina Lee (Owens) Foster

Ina Lee Owens Foster, 92, of Mt. Washington, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2023 (Thanksgiving) after a short stay at Richwood Nursing Home in LaGrange, KY.  She was a native of McCreary County, KY, a devoted wife, mother of six children, rural route mail carrier, employee of General Electric, a licensed real estate agent, and a long-time member of the First Baptist Church, Mt. Washington.  Ina was preceded in death by her husband, James “Ed” Foster; two sons, Gary Wayne Foster (Diann) of Campbellsville, KY and Robert Alan Foster (Rheta) and Joanne Brown of Magnolia, KY; her parents, Norman and Zona Worley Owens of Smithtown, KY; along with her siblings, Bessie Shepherd, Floyd Owens, Earl Owens, Edith Strunk, Allene Shepherd, Pete Owens, Geneva Inman, Norma Jean Morrow, Destil Owens, Delayne Owens, Billie Jo Owens, and Clyde Owens.  She is survived by two sons, Michael Foster (Mary Jane) of Prospect, KY and Terry Foster (Karen Ann) of Mt. Washington, KY; two daughters, Karen Cox (Jeff) of Shelbyville, KY and Sharon Foster DeVoie (Lt Col retired Kenneth) of Prospect, KY; along with one brother, Lt Col, retired Sherril Owens (Gail) of Smithtown, KY. Ina also enjoyed the blessings of 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces and nephews, who also held a special place in her heart.  Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2023 at the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 3 p.m. at the Hickman Cemetery, Smithtown, KY.  Friends may visit 5-8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
