Loren Jackson Grant, 85, of Taylorsville, KY, returned to the Lord on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at Baptist Health in Louisville. Jack was a native of Columbia, KY, a retired employee of Frito Lay Co., a retired United States Army veteran, and a member of Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral in Bardstown. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and riding his tractor. He also enjoyed making rosaries with the Rosary Club at his church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Preston and Alta Ballinger Grant; a brother, Norman Lyle Grant; and three sisters, Frances Childers, Ruby Whiteside, and Eva Minton. Jack is survived by his wife, Inge Grant; one daughter, Shirley Smith; a son, Jimmy Grant (Lynne); four grandchildren, Amanda Yanez, Aaron Grant, Emily Smith, and Vincent Smith; along with four great grandchildren, Sofia, Luis "Tito", Ari, and Oscar; along with a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Friends may visit on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 12 p.m. Wednesday until time of services. Memorial gifts in Jack's memory are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
