James T. "Tootles" Blair, 86, of Taylorsville, KY, formerly of Jeffersontown, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023 at Baptist Health. He was a native of Spencer County, a retired employee of Ford Motor Company, and a member of UAW 862. He was an outdoorsman, avid hunter, and enjoyed trap shooting at the local sportsman's clubs. He was an excellent marksman, and participated in the Grand Nationals. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jean Troxell Blair; a daughter, Sharon Lynn Curtsinger (John); his parents, Louis and America Emmaline Blair; and two brothers, George Bogard Jr. and Jessie Thomas Bogard. James is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Hedges (William) and Cynthia Whitaker (Michael); two brothers, Robert E. (Daphne) and Rodney Wayne (Pat) Blair; along with eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Friends may visit from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday. Memorial gifts are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
