James Robinson Obituary

James W. “Rob” Robinson, 90, of Shepherdsville, returned to the Lord on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.  Rob was born on October 31, 1935 in Jefferson County to the late William Eugene and Lilburne Alcorn Robinson.  He was a retired employee of Inland Container where he worked for 39 years, an Army veteran, and a faithful member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters-in-law, Anita Armstrong and Norma Jeanne Gentry (Dale).

Rob is survived by his wife of over 68 years, Carolyn Armstrong Robinson; his brother-in-law, Shirley Armstrong; nieces and nephews, Michael Gentry, Rhonda Moore (Phillip), Karyn Hoops, Susan Sadler, Robin Judd (Michael), Gina Mann, Amy Trent (Carl), and Jonathan Armstrong (Ann); along with a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. 

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2026 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens.  Friends may visit on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Friday.
