James Anthony Underwood, 40, of Louisville, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024 at Norton Audubon Hospital. James was a behavioral technician for the Robert Alexander Center for Recovery in Mt. Washington, a member of Okolona Christian Church, YMCA, AA, and NA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, swimming, and being at the ocean. He was preceded in death by his dad, Steve Brown; a brother, Steven Brown; grand-daddy, James Earl Underwood and grandfather, John Richard Shore. James is survived by his fiancee, Carissa; four children, Autumn, Cole, Alainna, and Alyssa; his mother, Lisa Brown; father, Todd Anthony Underwood and stepmother, Gia Disanto-Underwood; his sister, Christina Marie Underwood; grandparents, Lucy and Danny Gregoire; and grandmother, Lois Underwood; along with a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2024 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highview Cemetery Chaplin, KY. Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until time of service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in his memory are suggested to be made to the Robert Alexander Center for Recovery (RAC).
