James Whitehead Obituary

James Dale Whitehead, 76, of Louisville, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Norton Women and Children's Hospital. He was a native of Louisville, a retired employee of General Electric, and a member of IUE 761. He enjoyed fishing, playing guitar, dancing, golf, softball, and shooting. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton Whitehead and Essie Whitten Tyler; sister, Sueann Boynton; and a brother, Tommy Greenwell. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joyce Gibson Whitehead; a son Jeff Whitehead (Bridget); daughter, Melissa Miller (Michael); five grandchildren, Amanda Gunter, Julia Whitehead, Jarrett Whitehead, Sarah Deye (Adam), and Jacob Miller (Peyton); along with two great grandchildren, Asher Deye and Travis Gunter. Services will be private. Burial will take place in the Mt. Washington Cemetery.
