James William Brown, 69, of Louisville, returned to the Lord on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at University of Louisville Hospital. James was a retired security guard for Saints Mary & Elizabeth Hospital and a volunteer there after he retired. He was a member of Christian Assembly Church and had attended Gospel Kingdom Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Lee and Anna Mae Brown; and his siblings, Roy Lee Brown, Jr., Everett Gene Brown, Louise Burgin, Dorine Prewitt, and Margaret Brown. James is survived by two brothers, John Thomas and Jay Dee Brown (Linda); two sisters, Sara Elizabeth Gibson and Marion Carol Miller (Denny); nieces and nephews, Diana Riebel, Regina Leach, Gene Brown, Jr., Eric Akin, Jeff Brown, Steve Burgin, Randy Gardner, Robert Burgin, Larry, Ricky, and Terry Gardner, Linda Dreyer, and Ronnie Gardner; along with a host of many friends. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Christian Assembly Church, 9020 Stonestreet Road, Louisville, KY. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until time of service on Thursday. Memorial gifts are suggested to the American Stroke Association.
