Jerry Martion Watson, 81, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Baptist Health. Jerry was born on March 16, 1939 to the late Thomas and Amelia Watson in Jefferson County, KY. Jerry was a retired teacher with Jefferson County Public Schools, where he taught for 27 years, and was a member of Kings Baptist Church. In 1978, he received the award for best school teacher in the state. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 59 years, JoAnn; three daughters, Monica Hodge (Roger), Tammy Nash ( Mark), and Renee' Hedges (Joshua); six grandchildren, Stephanie Hodge, Joshua Nash (Colie), Matthew Hodge, Rachel Pederson (Tom), Shad Hedges (Roxanne), and Seth Hedges; four great grandchildren, Addison Noelle Sheehan, Nicholas Mark "Cole" Nash, Charlotte Evelyn Hedges, and Wade Thomas Pederson. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Kings Church Cemetery. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until time of service on Thursday. Memorial gifts in Jerry's memory are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
