Joan Carol (Hammond) Cheatham

Joan Carol Cheatham, 69, of Mt. Washington, passed away June 24, 2026 at Norton Audubon Hospital.  She was a former employee of Owens Corning, a member of the AARP, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Hammond; along with seven siblings.  She is survived by two sons, Jimmy (Candise) and Brad (Jeana) Cheatham; a daughter, Tammy Morgan (Kevin); two brothers, Leroy and James (Roanne) Hammond; a sister, Helen Shepherd; along with 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Friends may visit after 9 a.m. Saturday.
