Joan (Asbery) Holt

Joan Holt, 87, of Mt. Washington, passed away May 16, 2025.  She was a former cafeteria worker at the Mt. Washington Middle School, a member of Calvary Christian Center, and enjoyed crafts, crocheting, and sewing.  She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mable Asbery; her loving husband, Ray Holt; along with her siblings, Garnett Ray Asbery, Leroy Asbery, and Wilma Jean Watson.  She is survived by her son, James Keith Holt; two daughters, Cathy Russell (Bob) and Sharon Stamper (Billy); two sisters-in-law, Imogene and Clare Asbery; along with two grandchildren, Samuel (Cassandra) and Matthew (Aly) Stamper and four great-grandchildren, Adrian, Brayden, Ella, and Mila.  Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 24 at the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Mount Washington Cemetery.  Friends may visit 5-8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday.
