John William Boggs, Sr.

John William Boggs, Sr., 70, of Mt. Washington, passed away November 5, 2025 at his home.  He was retired from LG&E and attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.  He was an avid UK fan and enjoyed horseback riding and antique cars and trucks, especially his 1946 Chevy truck.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Juanita Boggs; along with a brother in law, Bruce Snyder, Jr.  He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Boggs; three children, Wendy McElfish (Justin), Christina Wethington (Tom), and John William Boggs, Jr. (Cortney); three step-children, Scott (Sara), Christopher (Leslie), and Joshua (Angela) Waddell; two brothers, James (Debbie) and Brian (Angie) Boggs; a sister, Linda Snyder; along with 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2025 at the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens.  Friends may visit Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of service.
